On Friday, May 9, Notre Dame hosted its annual Food Truck Friday, a popular tradition that brings a variety of local food trucks to campus during the students’ lunch period.
“We’ve been doing this for about 8 years,” said NDA’s Director of Student Activities, Jennie Laaksonen.
The idea originated from a member of the student government’s executive board.
“It’s a classic example of having a good idea as a student in a leadership position and then making it happen,” Laaksonen added.
Students had the option to purchase food from five food trucks.
The food trucks were Inferno Heat, Blue Suede, Rusty’s BBQ, El Bistro Taco, and Lil Jamaica.
All food trucks accepted cash, credit cards and Apple Pay as payment.
To allow students to fully enjoy the event, lunch was extended by 55 minutes, and students were encouraged to enjoy the weather by eating outside.
“I enjoyed it. Good food and great weather were a great way to end my school week,” said Lindsay Ortega, a sophomore.
