This week, October 6-10, everyone at NDA can celebrate National Yearbook Week by participating in three fun activities for a chance to win prizes.
“National Year Book Week is going to be a fun time, and I’m hoping a lot of people will participate,” said Ms. Cassidy Hempel, yearbook adviser.
The first contest will be the Golden Year Book Hunt with five golden yearbook cards or tickets hidden around the school. If a student finds one of the cards, he fills it out for a chance to win a free yearbook. The drawing will take place on the Morning Show.
“I plan to hide the golden cards either late Friday or early Monday,” said Hempel. “I’m already planning where they’ll be.”
Another contest is a “Guess Who” game where old yearbook photos of teachers will be published in the Online Tritonian along with a Google form for students to submit their guess of who the teacher is.
A total of 10 teacher pictures will be posted Monday-Thursday in the Online Tritonian. The winner of that contest gets a gift card to the school spirit store.
The last contest will be a photo contest where students can submit photos until November of school events like powderpuff, school dances and athletic events.
The winner of the school-wide competition will be entered in the Walsworth Yearbook Company’s national competition and eligible for prizes that include gift cards and scholarships.
NDA’s Yearbook Staff of around 30 students meets every other week, and Hempel invites others to join. Editors are Stella Starry, Josie Streckenbach and Ellie Rupp.
