Adviser’s Note: The photo above shows the NDA students and advisers at the 2026 March for Life in D.C.
“By being in the March, students are inspired seeing people with the same beliefs as them and realizing that they are not alone,” said Father Jordan Neeck. The March for Life trip is set for January 21-25 with 23 students attending from NDA.
In the past, NDA students have attended the March, but this is the second time it has been organized in conjunction with the school. Overall, the trip itself has remained similar each year.
Senior Leo Muller will be making his second March for Life trip.
“The March last year was a fun and fruitful experience I am looking forward to repeating,” he said. “Standing in solidarity with others for a just truth and having a fun (even if challenging) bus journey with friends were unique experiences that helped me grow in my faith in God and appreciation for the people around me.”
Fellow senior Irene Ertman is also going for a second time. “My friends are going,” she explained and then emphasized the purpose of the trip: “Life is important.”
The group will depart from Notre Dame on Wednesday at 2 p.m. and return on Sunday at 8:35 a.m. Food is provided in DC, but students are highly encouraged to bring snacks for the trip.
Father Jordan and Ms. Joan Cinotto, theology teacher, will lead the trip along with three other volunteer chaperones: Mr. Michael Aschinger, Mrs. Liz Muller and Mrs. Lynn Neeck.
The group will arrive in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, the 22nd.
“After arriving, we will pray in front of Planned Parenthood,” said Father Jordan.“Following the praying, we will go to mass at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.”
Friday the 23rd is the March for Life Protest with estimates of over 150,000 people expected to attend.
The March itself is walked from the front of the Washington Monument to the Capitol. But before that starts, there are bands playing music for entertainment.
“This year, after the March, we will get a tour of the Capitol from Congressman Tony Weid,” said the school chaplain.
Saturday morning is sightseeing and touring the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
“I know the National Holocaust Museum made an impact on many students. It is very eye-opening what happens when we disregard the dignity of others,” said Father Jordan.
He hopes students learn on this trip “how precious life is and how everyone has God-given value.”
