Notre Dame Academy hosted the annual event “NDA Gives Day,” a day where people can donate to NDA to help people struggling with tuition and support different facilities around the school.
Alumni, grandparents and current parents are contacted to make donations to contribute to our school.
“It is a fun way for people in our community to help future members of our community,” said Eliza Campbell, NDA’s Alumni Coordinator who headed the event.
NDA raised over $72,000 just from one day of giving through the community.
The starting goal was $15,000, which NDA quickly passed.
A fun way for people to get involved was a “Class Challenge” contest.
“The idea is that the class with the most money will have a non-uniform day. Parents, grandparents and alumni can give directly towards a class, and it will be marked under that class,” Campbell explained.
This challenge is directed toward encouraging students and their families to get involved and support their class.
To help run this big event, many people besides Campbell helped.
“Mrs. (Chelsea) McKay has been a big help. As well as Joey Rickards, Claire Teitz and Mrs. (Amy) Ott. I also have members of our board that have helped,” said Campbell.
President Ott shared accolades of her own, saying “Thank you for the incredible way our NDA community came together. It was truly inspiring to see so many members of our faculty and staff participate in support of our students and our mission. A special thank you to Eliza for her leadership in guiding this effort.”
All in all, NDA Gives Day was a fantastic opportunity for the Triton community to make a big difference in the lives of students at school.
The event originated last year when former president Tom Kiely designed an alumni-donation-focused event.
“This year it is for the whole community,” stated Campbell. Anyone part of the NDA community can contribute whether you are a parent, student, staff, faculty, alum, grandparent, family member or future NDA family.
With NDA Gives Day ending, the NDA community will be greatly affected by all the generous donations and would like to thank anyone who made a contribution, big or small.
