With one full school day and three shortened days of finals left, the 2021-22 school year is coming to a close.

This year has come with many highs and lows for everyone involved, and freshmen are no exception.

In addition to entering the high school environment, many have had to do so after a year or more of online or hybrid school.

As the year comes to an end, a few shared their thoughts on completing their first year of high school.

“The best thing to come out of this year was probably having more opportunities to make friends,” shared Mathilde Passov.

Passov also added that she enjoyed the wide variety of food options from the school’s Konop cafe.

Freshman Ally Paprocki agreed and said that the biggest adjustment she had to make at Notre Dame was to the amount of homework assigned.

“Coming from a public school, I also had to adjust to the uniforms,” she shared.

With summer starting soon, students look forward to additional freetime, warm weather and a three-month long hiatus from school.

“I am very excited for summer,” shared freshman Jasmine Rogers. “And I’m also excited to come back next year as a sophomore.”

This sentiment was echoed by other freshman, who said that this year was challenging but full of excitement.

“I liked this year,” shared freshman Brynn Nelson. “It was really rewarding.”
