Dear Editor,
My heart is broken, not by the silver ball finish of our football team at Camp Randall, but by the depressed feeling of the football players. You have NOT failed! Hundreds of schools would be thrilled to have a silver ball. You moved up to a bigger-school division; you had a perfect winning season for two years; you played a super game at Camp Randall! You are wonderful young men I’m so proud, so happy to know!
Thank you for representing all of us so well. You are amazing, you are the best of the best; you are everything that is right about sports and character and school spirit. Please know we appreciate all you’ve sacrificed, all the work you’ve put into the season, and all the character and fortitude you’ve shown us.
So, thank you and thank you. Hold your head up and know you’re legendary, you’re appreciated, and you’re our heroes! It’s a great day–and great honor–to be a Triton!
Gratefully,
Carolyn Brown, English
