Are you passionate about politics, government, or making a real impact in your community?
Notre Dame Academy students are getting a chance to do that through Project Teal, a national, nonpartisan, student-led organization dedicated to helping teens understand civics and the government.
Project Teal helps students lead workshops, start discussions and understand how our government works.
The goal is to help the next generation become more informed, engaged citizens.
Max Janick, a sophomore at NDA and Assistant Chapter Lead for Wisconsin, explained, “Civic education is imperative to democracy and a better, more informed country.”
Freshman Emily Metzentine joined after hearing about the organization through Janick.
“I got involved because I overall really enjoy politics as well as government, and I think it is really important for the next generation to be educated and knowledgeable about our government system so our states and country can be successful in years to come,” Metzentine said.
The members of the organization meet roughly every two weeks through Google Meet, but it varies.
Project Teal isn’t just for people interested in politics; it’s for anyone who believes that understanding government matters. Whether you’re interested in law, history, education, or leadership, this is a chance to express your opinion and make an impact.
If you’re looking to build leadership skills, make connections with other students who share the same ideas across the state, and help improve civic awareness, Project Teal is the place to start.
