Senior Caroline Broberg recently returned from a five-day trip to New York City, where she embraced the city’s theater scene and endless energy.
For Broberg, the trip was more than a vacation.
“It was a preview of the life I hope to one day have,” she said.
During her stay, Broberg attended three major shows, starting with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall.
“Seeing Rockettes in person felt unreal,” she shared.
She also saw Hamilton on Broadway as well as the new Broadway adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
After the Gatsby performance, Broberg had the unexpected chance to meet Broadway star Jeremy Jordan at the stage door.
“It was one of the highlights of the entire trip,” she said.
Broberg was beyond excited to meet the incredible performer.
“He was so kind, and getting to meet someone I’ve admired for so long made the night even more memorable,” she said.
While Broberg enjoyed the show and scenery, she also took on a leadership role throughout the trip.
Assisting her mother, she helped guide hotel tourists from the attractions and consulted with them on evening plans with their itineraries.
“It felt natural to help. I love the city, and navigating it feels exciting to me,” she explained.
Despite the chilly 35-degree weather, Broberg says she absolutely loved every second of her trip.
The experience reaffirmed her desire to move to New York after college.
“There is nowhere like it,” she said.
