“It was August when we started dating, and by December, I had popped the question,” said Tomerot Lambert, NDA theology teacher. Raven and Tomerot celebrate their second wedding anniversary this May.
The two had been classmates in middle school and throughout high school, but it wasn’t until high school that they became close friends.
“We started dating in our senior year, and we went to homecoming together,” he explained. It was not until many years later that they would rekindle this romantic relationship.
After high school, they both went their separate ways. Lambert was on the track to become a priest at Divine Word College Seminary.
He completed his four-year philosophy degree and spent a year in Maryland studying with the Order of Friars Minor.
Lambert and Raven still stayed in touch during this time. She got her master’s in education and was planning to find a teaching job.
“Then I realized halfway through that the priesthood was not for me,” Lambert admitted. The panic set in soon after he moved back home when he realized he needed a job.
He soon got a full-time job subbing in the Manitowoc public schools. He was planning on getting his master’s degree in theology, but a position opened at St. Bernard’s for a middle school theology teacher.
“After living in Green Bay for two years, Raven and I started dating in the fall of 2023,” Lambert said.
The execution of the proposal was not easy for Lambert. He planned to surprise her at the Como Zoo Conservatory in Minnesota, but she had all the wrong suspicions.
Lambert had told her he was at a basketball game, but she soon realized he was nowhere near where he had claimed to be.
Raven’s aunt was in on the surprise as well, trying to help out as best she could. In the end, all was well, and they set a wedding date.
“We got married on May 4, 2024, and then a year later, we were blessed with a son on May 5.” Lambert said.

A beautiful love story. I’m so glad I can continue to watch it unfold. A wonderful and faith filled couple.
